Everything is connected but I can't control Apple Logic

This is a common bug in Logic that has existed since Logic 7 and seems to get worse in each release.

I think Logic gets confused as to 'what device is what' in the MIDI config and it's just a matter of slapping
Logic around until it figures it out-

These tips come from the Logic user's forum and they work-
Sometimes you have to do it more than once:

- Quit Logic and run Audio MIDI Setup.app
- Create a new MIDI configuration from the configuration drop-down menu. You can create a duplicate
instead of a new one as well.

- Launch Logic
- Delete all the control surface icons from the Control Surface Setup window
- press the "Reset MIDI Drivers" button in the MIDI preferences, General pane
- then select the "Rebuild Defaults" command from the control surface sub-menu.
- Go back to the Control Surface Setup window and "scan for new" again.
(See the Logic install instructions for more details)

This will get Logic to respond properly to the MIDI data it gets from ProRemote or ProTransport.

Just a heads up, i also tried the above a few times with no
success. However, after restarting both my Mac AND my iPhone,
everything worked fine.

I'm having the same problem and have gone through all of
these steps, PR reads logic fine, but Logic doesn't respond to PR
at all. I also don't know how to test to see if my Mac is receiving
any midi input from PR.

I'm running Logic 9 on Mountain lion, please help!

Thanks,

Max

I have the same problem. I can see that Logic is receiving MIDI
data from PR, but the sliders in Logic don't respond. Is there
some setting I'm missing?

Thanks

Update - I deleted the Mackie control surfaces in Logic,
restarted both the Mac and the iPad, then re-added the
Mackie control surfaces in Logic, and it now works. This is
the second time I tried this. It didn't work the first time.
Magic.

I've had to reset Logic more than once myself to get it working.
This doesn't happen with any other DAWs so we assume the
bug is with Logic.
