Does ProRemote really work??

I can't just never reliably get this to work. I'm on DP 7.24.
Whenever I don't use it for a while and come back I can never
seem to get it to connect. I finally get a connection but then
the transport doesn't work. Then the transport was
apparently fixed but I couldn't get it to connect. Does this
thing actually work? I bought it several years ago for $100
and it just doesn't really work for me. I'm running the most
recent ProRemote. I checked that the firewall was off. I
checked that I had the Mackie set up properly in the
Audio/Midi. I launch ProRemote app and it tells me theres no
connection. I go to iPad PR preferences and it shows me its
not connected and other . . . I have all the upgrades installed.
I just think this is terrible. I want SO MUCH to be able to use
this and like it. This is WHY I bought the iPad. What am I
doing wrong and what can I do to fix it?? Please.

Also I just installed PR Server 2.5.4 before I posted the
above. I rechecked my wifi settings (it was off! even though I
was SURE I had turned it on) but now it's telling me PRServer
is no longer compatible with 2.5.0. Install 2.5.4 or later. But I
already did that. And I did it again just to be sure. All music
applications were quit.

Apparently I had to reinstall the server software. I thought it
said I didn't have to. But after I did it started working.

Eventually we will make the whole thing auto-update but it has
been low on the priority list. Glad to hear you got it working!
