Can you verify if you actually have a
/Library/Application Support folder?

Code 1 means that the Server portion of
the installer failed. Can you look in
your
Console.log file and see what the
installer might have written there?

I do have that folder but there was
nothing pertaining to Proremote in there
or even a proremote folder in the
Application Support folder. That could
be because I tried to uninstall it. Is
that where the console.log file is?

Sounds like the permissions on that Application
Support folder might be preventing us from
installing.

The console.log file can be read by running the
Console.app in your utilities folder.

I am in the middle of a job and suddenly after updating I am
also getting the dreaded ProRemoteServer Failed!

Can someone please come up with a solution to the
problem. This is really slowing my work flow down!

Thank you!

Please contact us via our support email address.

The problem is that our installer has issues on some user's systems that are running on 10.6.x. The issue is
that the permissions for ProRemote's bit and pieces are improperly set.

The installer's permissions get whacked by certain browsers when downloaded. This in turn causes our
installer to install its pieces with the incorrect permissions. The permissions on ProRemote's Server and MIDI
Driver need to be root:wheel.

The next version of our installer will have this fixed. In the meantime if you contact me offline I will walk
you thru fixing the permissions to work around this problem.

Sorry for the hassles.

another install/connect issue

I can´t correctly install/connect to ProRemote Server.

System: 10.6.4, Logic 9, iPod Touch 1G (3.1.3)

I have two user accounts: Admin and User.

As Admin I can install ProRemote Server and ProRemote conntects to it.

But I as normal user can´t connect to the server. Although it is running (says Installer app, says MIDI Setup). I tried reinstalling the server application as user, but got error codes 2 and 3.

Firewall is set up to allow incoming connections for the server.

I already repaired permissions.

Edit: problem solved, the permissions of the installer app "got whacked"; I used a different downloader app (Safari was fine for me), manually deleted the files and run the installer again.

If your installer is failing, check the console after running it. In
my case it was failing because the 'LaunchAgents' directory in
my /Library folder didn't exist. Manually created one and the
installer worked.
