Ok, the only time this works is when launched for the first time. I close PT, come back a day later, turn on the ipod touch and then fire up Pro Tools. Nada....
Uninstall everything and reinstall and it works... Not sure what the deal is.

Can you tell me what the errors are that you are getting? Is the problem with ProTools forgetting
the HUI settings?

no errors to speak of, it just won't work.... It shows as a HUI option in PRO TOOLS, but nada... It just says cannot find HUI source. Even though it shows connection to server on the ipod and software....

I've never run across a "cannot find HUI source" error. Perhaps you mean something else? In any case the problem
could be that the ProRemoteServer was run after MIDI Server in which case you would get a "HUI Communication
Error". Usually rebooting does the trick in this case.

I'm getting something similar. The exact error message is
"Pro Tools is unable to communicate with HUI. Power-cycle
HUI and check its connections. Note, if HUI is not in use,
update the Peripherals dialog to prevent further warnings."

I've been able to get the transport to work once but even
when it was working this message was popping up during
playback.

This error happens when the MIDI server loads our driver BEFORE ProRemoteServer is
running. Usually ProRemoteServer is already running before any MIDI apps start up, however
some other programs tend to start the MIDI server at boot time which would cause this
problem for you.

Can you verify that MIDIServer is not running when no apps running? Go to Activity Monitor
and see if you can spot it.
