Protransport follows Logic, but not the other way round

I just downloaded protransport to try out with a view to
getting proremote if this works on Logic

So far all that happens, after installing as per your
instructions, is that when I run Logic I see the transport in
protransport responding (smpte runs, butttons light up etc).

BUT

When I press the buttons on protransport, nothing happens
in Logic (aaprt from seeing some MIDI note offs in the
transport bar), but Logic does not respond apart from that.

ie, I seem to have only a one way connection. Maybe I'm
doing something wrong?

Help please!

Should I be using the learning controller assignments in
Logic prefs? I just found the Logic Control surface manual
and it is very unclear. Either that or it just isn't working
properly.
The instructions here don't say anything about needing to
input any assignments there, but I thought maybe I do as it's
not working.

NB, after pressing a button on protransport I see nothing in
the MIDI input of Logic Transport until a release the button,
when I see a note off.

Ok, well I did some fiddling (deleted the mackie controller #5)
and it now seems to work. Not sure if that is a conicidence.

Only problem is Play does not work, it just stutters (I see
someone else had that problem)

Try to delete all the controllers and rescan- that should get rid of the stutter
problem. I wish I could reproduce that problem here in the lab so I could fix the
bug if it's mine.

I did that, now it is back to not working at all.

Should I be doing anything in the Controller Assignments
Window?

Quit Logic and try tossing Logic's Preference file. Then try rescanning the controllers
once more. You shouldn't have to mess with anything in the Controller Assignments
window. You may want to try the "Rebuild Defaults" command in the Control Surface
Preferences sub menu. Also you only need the first controller for ProTransport-
Logic finds all four devices, you only need to use the first one.

Wow- I thought I fixed that bug- Can you make sure you have the latest ProRemoteServer installed on
your system? You can check by running ProRemoteControl and pressing the "Check for Updates" button.

thanks and sorry you are having setup issues.
